In this episode, you will hear our interview with holocaust survivor Dr. Jack Wetter. An extraordinary educator and a member of our McGlone Community, Ms. Peleg, set up this interview so we can hear a first-hand account of what happened during the holocaust and the effects it had on the people who survived. They are heroes because they overcame so many tragic moments and survived to tell their stories so that we can learn to treat one another with empathy and respect. The interview was so interesting, and we were so excited because many of our classmates had the opportunity to ask questions. We learned that Dr. Wetter and his family hid inside a basement. He didn’t remember anything because he was just a baby during the events of the holocaust.  However, the tragic events impacted him physically and mentally for the rest of his life. He talked to us about how he overcame challenges and obstacles in his life to become a successful psychologist who shares his story to inspire others.
