On Friday morning, we ended the week with an Instagram LIVE cooking demo while we chat with Haitian-American #Vegan food blogger Just Manou (@haitianandvegan) about her vegan journey after being diagnosed with Lumbar #Scoliosis. Manoucheka Vincent was born in #Haiti, came to Florida at the age of one. Known as Manou to friends and family, she is the oldest out of 5 children. She is currently a senior student at #FIU studying communications. Manou has always struggled with her weight. After being diagnosed with Lumbar Scoliosis, Manou strived to live a healthier life. While researching to see which diet fits her best; Manou chose vegetarian lifestyles after watching a documentary on the process and preparation of meat in America. Manou has lost 40lbs by cutting out meat and exercising, 9months ago she transitioned to a more plant-based diet, removing dairy, eggs, and honey. This change removed another 20lbs off. Since then she has continued to research and grow in her understanding of the plant-based life.
