Oceanside High School graduate, class of ‘76, construction engineer/consultant, and author Dennis Freed joined us to talk about his his role of caregiver during his wife Hope’s 7 year battle with cancer. His book Love, Loss and Awakening: (Mis)Adventures on the Way Back to Joy is the basis for much of the conversation taking place during our most recent episode. Dennis P. Freed is a native of Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Oceanside, Long Island, where he later raised his family. He earned a BS in Civil Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. After a stint as a structural engineer, he entered the ConstructionManagement and Development profession in New York City where he has led teams to construct and develop over sixty-five buildings. He is currently Principal at Dennis Freed Consulting. Also a visiting professor at Pratt University and Columbia Universityin New York, he teaches Construction Management to architecture and graduate real estate students.
