Episode 35 Gillean McLeod  Wardrobe Stylist turned Model at 50! Welcome to Episode 35,  Today Jake and I are joined the ever so gorgeous Gillean McLeod, a super talented wardrobe stylist who turned model in her 50’s with her first portfolio being shot at 52! Gillean is still smashing runways and global campaigns in her 60’s and she certainly shows us how a model should be. She has styled for some of the biggest brands on the planet, and modelled for some of the biggest fashion campaigns out there, causing a trending storm with her natural long silver colour hair, hair that even our resident Jake Hicks would be proud of!  Some of her modelling campaigns have created a welcomed storm on the internet, and if you look at her instagram, you can even see her infant of one of her campaigns thats shown as a huge Billboard Ad in Times Square, New York. We take a little peek into Gillean’s career as a Wardrobe stylist in the Advertising &amp; Editorial world where here career spans over 4 decades, and then we peek into her modelling career, where’s been gracing campaigns for over a decade, and currently is where her career is the busiest today. Gillean gives us a beautiful insight into her double world of creative prowess and chats about what things can be like on set, both good and bad! She’s been in ads for Boots the Chemist, Levi’s Jeans, Schwarzkopf hair products, Allure Magazine, and she even graced a billboard in Times Sq for Oliver Peoples. We speak about her journey growing up in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Scotland. I can’t help it, but I keep meeting and falling in love with inspiring women on my messy imperfect life with leigh podcast. Gillean Mcleod is something else (check out her instagram @gilleanmcleod). Her life changed dramatically at 51 when her marriage of 22 years fell apart. Her body ached for about a year and she felt devastated as she began thinking of her future and how she would take care of herself as it was the first time in her life on her own. Cut to 12 years later at 63 where she is one of the most sought after models today. Thank you Gillean for showing us that ALL things are possible! She created a whole new amazing and empowering chapter for her self. Rock on sister.
