Carrie Eighmey Hired as WBB Coach, Vandals Spring Football Takeaways

In this episode, Commissioner Racy is joined by Nebraska Kearney head women’s basketball coach Carrie Eighmey.   Eighmey begins the episode by talking about her excitement for next season as the Lopers played seven freshmen this season (2:54-4:16), how this offseason differs from previous years (4:39-5:28) and how the team plans to build off making it to Kansas City for the MIAA Tournament (5:43-6:36).   Next, Eighmey shares insight into the success of her high school career which included a 95-game winning streak and four state championships and how she looks for success in recruits (7:05-10:20). She also dives into what made her want to be a coach (10:33-12:06) and her relationship with her former college coach and current Fort Hays State head coach Tony Hobson (12:54-17:00).   Eighmey describes the challenges of rebuilding the Loper program and trying to take it back to its level of national prominence that included an NCAA record 87-game home winning streak (17:27-19:49). Following that, she talks about getting to coach alongside her husband Devin Eighmey and how they handle coaching and marriage together (20:24-25:25).
