Connecting and Empowering Women in your Community with YEG BOSS BABES Co-Founder, Kirsten MacDonell

COMMUNITY COMMUNITY COMMUNITY.I think that has been such a buzzword in business for the past few years. With hashtags like, #communityovercompetition and #empoweredwomenempowerwomen going all around, it’s most likely that you’ve had a glimpse or have experienced the importance of collaboration &amp; having a thriving community of like-minded people around you.I really believe in the quote “if you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.” So from the first moment, even before I figured out what I wanted to do, I knew I needed to surround myself with people who proved to me what’s possible, with a community of inspiring women I can learn from and grow with. I have made that my mission and it’s one of the things that I attribute my growth to.And if you’re a businesswoman in Edmonton, you probably have heard of, YEGBOSSBABES, a group that fosters a community of women empowering women, braving the sometimes confusing journey of entrepreneurship hand-in-hand, coming together to learn from and support each other.Today, I am sitting down with Kirsten Macdonell, one of its co-founders. She tells us the story of how one text message paved the way for this growing empire which has amassed more than 15,000 people all over their platforms in just a little over a  year. They have been providing networking events and workshops, and trainings in different areas of business for entrepreneurs and has been connecting local business with each other through their directory.We talk about the power of nurturing genuine relationships and collaborating with other local business owners, whether you’re starting up or in the middle.
