2011 Edward Ayers Awards Banquet Speaker

Author and scholar, Dr. Edward L. Ayers, joins Cathy in the studio ahead of his appearance at the Norfolk Forum on January 10th. Dr. Ayers is currently the president of the University of Richmond and is widely regarded as one of the nation's leading Civil War scholars. His books include "The Promise of the New South: Life After Reconstruction" and "In the Presence of Mine Enemies: Civil War in the Heart of America." We'll talk with Dr. Ayers about the blending of his academic and administrative work, as well as his public radio program, "BackStory with the American History Guys."
