This week we are joined by Mrs Zoleka Lebelo, Principal of Alexander High School and Mrs Thandi Magwaza, Head of Life Orientation Department at Kwabhekilanga High School. Our conversation considers the roles of different stakeholders in high school education, stressing the need for greater collaboration amongst interest groups to actively participate in learners’ education, to help ensure that school systems produce knowledgeable resourceful adults who contribute positively to society. This entails building adequate support structures, providing comprehensive guidance on subject choices, developing life skills, mentoring, promoting self-confidence etc…We emphasise that education is a tool through which people can overcome stereotypes and better their lives no matter what, and much more…
