I honestly don't have enough characters in this description to write about how much I love my sister in law. I knew if I interviewed Richard, she would be next. I love hearing their story told. Katie Snyder Mounce puts up with the entire Mounce family and just fits perfectly into our puzzle piece. She is patient, kind, loving and is a 6 on the ennegram. Loyal. She always has my back. We recorded this episode about a month and a half ago and she was so intentional about her time with the Lord before she spoke which is something I can definitely learn from. Katie is from New Jersey and grew up in the catholic faith. She is passionate about her family, growing up in the north and the love she has for her people. Katie and I discuss a lot about work based theology and how she was taught that her work made her right with God. She also talks a lot about self glorification and how we were not meant to be praised. I loved this part of the conversation. I think the biggest nugget of truth that I gleaned from this episode was Katie said " to know Christ is to hate your sin". That hit me like a ton of bricks. Do I hate my disobedience? Do I hate when I gossip? Do I hate when I am rude to a person in line, or have extreme road rage? I need this on a sticky note in my car. We talk about santification and what that looks like in our specific walks with Jesus and honestly just have an awesome conversation! Katie is taking a social media break right now so you'll have to keep up with the Mounce Family though me (dern). She is the greatest sister in law and an example to every woman that interacts with her. I am so blessed to have her in my life and this was such a special time for us!
