“The Covid Comeback” with Music Producer Rodney Stepp

On this week's show Kyle talks with Rodney Stepp. Forty years after recording two LPs of unreleased music, Rodney's legendary Indianapolis funk supergroup Rapture has issued an excellent 45 single through the U.K. label Super Disco Edits. Rodney shares the story behind the record's release.

Pictured with Muhammad Ali and Etta James in Kinshasa, Zaire from the time of Ali's Rumble in the Jungle fight with George Foreman. Rodney Stepp played the Zaire '74 concert when he was keyboardist and assistant musical director for The Spinners. On the show are tracks from Rodney's work with The Diplomatics, Jazzie Cazzie and The Seven Sounds, The Spinners - and two never before heard soul ballads from Rodney's Midwest funk supergroup Rapture, who recorded two extraordinary LPs that were never issued.
