She grew up thinking that she was congenitally anosmic but in recent years, has started to regain some sense of smell, meaning she's mostly likely hyposmic. Episode 66 - An Interview with Nisha Pradhan 

After high school, Nisha Pradhan wanted to be a hairdresser. Her male high school careers advisor thought “this was a great idea.” But when Pradhan, now a University of New South Wales fourth year electrical engineering and commerce student, told her mathematics teacher Mrs Wilcock, of her ambitions, Pradhan says her teacher “had something completely else in mind.” She encouraged Pradhan to try out engineering.
