1998’s Academy Award Best Feature Documentary, THE LAST DAYS, filmed in five countries, traces the compelling experiences of five Hungarian Holocaust survivors who fell victim to Hitler’s brutal war against the Jews during the final days of WWII. Including newly discovered historical footage and a rare interview with a former Nazi doctor at Auschwitz, the film tells the remarkable story of five people – now a grandmother, a teacher, a businessman, an artist, and a United States Congressman – as they return from the United States to their hometowns and to the ghettos and concentration camps in which they were imprisoned. Through the eyes of the survivors and other witnesses, THE LAST DAYS recounts one of the most brutal chapters of this dark period in human history, when families were taken from their homes, stripped of their dignity, deported to concentration camps and ultimately murdered. The Last Days / Film School Interview with Director and Editor James Moll

Slash has been shredding his way to rock and roll godhood ever since the seminal Guns N Roses album Appetite for Destruction dropped in July of 1987. James Moll won an Academy Award for a Holocaust documentary he did with Spielberg, and releases his new documentary Farmland this month. And all the Muscle Shoals Swampers did was help launch the careers of Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett, Clarence Carter, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, while collaborating on some of the best work of Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Paul Simon and Elton John among many others. And after a few Turn Me On suggestions from each of our guests, we hear a song from Dinosaur Jr's Daytrotter session.

James Moll produced "Farmland", a documentary about six farmers and ranchers from across the United States.  The funding for the film came from the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance but Moll says he had complete editorial control.  The film had its debut on Thursday, April 14 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.  Five of the farmers featured in the film attended the gala event.  Moll is a very high profile film maker for this type of project.  He has academy award credits to his name but says he had never been on a farm until he produced "Farmland".  His point of view remains understated as he says he wanted the farmers to speak for themselves and tell about their industry and affection for their livelihood and lifestyle.James MollJamesMoll.jpeg
