This week’s episode features tour manager, sound engineer and baking supremo, Alicia Blake.Seb and Verity were lucky enough to catch Alicia at her home in Seattle - sadly for them, only via zoom - whilst on a short break from Sylvan Esso’s U.S tour. Alicia chats about hitting the road again and how the band and crew have been spending their downtime - think tie dying T-shirts in a tent in the middle of nowhere.....She talks about learning to sound engineer on her first job in a club in Seattle and how she made the move into touring. She tells a great story about the first band she toured with and the grizzly details of what they were up to!Mercifully these days Alicia’s bands are much easier to work with - and the budgets a little higher - none the less, Seb and Verity spring some nightmare tour scenarios on her and see how she’d handle them.Another excellent Alicia fact is that she recently went back into education to train as a pastry chef.
