The musicians met several years ago while performing for various ensembles in New York. They’d known each other for a couple of years but one day, waiting for another artist to for a rehearsal, they began to improvise spontaneously. Jeremy speaks with his brother Noah Hoffeld, cellist, singer/songwriter, arranger and composer. Noah covers many topics including recent projects playing with Krishna Das, Fabian Almazan, Brad Mehldau, Noah's own film score for an upcoming movie as well as his truly inspiring ongoing effort to make his artistic and creative pursuits a cohesive aspect of his overarching spiritual path and desire to serve, seva.

I was thrilled to interview cellist Noah Hoffeld on this week’s podcast. Noah has performed with Rene Fleming and Phillip Glass, and recorded solo cello for films including A Walk In the Woods and The Skeleton Twins. His debut solo album, Play Human, has been heralded by Baebel Music as “cello rock you never knew you needed.” We talked a good bit about Noah’s fantastic album, Play Human, and I was especially interested in talking to Noah about the role that meditation plays in his creativity and productivity. This is an area I have been wanting to add into my life for some time, so this was a particularly timely topic for me.
