Today in 1900, composer and ethnomusicologist Colin McPhee was born in Montreal, Canada. On today's "A Classical Day in the Life" we explore McPhee's pioneering work on the music of Bali, a culture with which he first came into contact through recordings of the Balinese gamelan in the late 1920s.

Eerder dit jaar gingen we in het autootje helemaal naar Maastricht, om eens te kijken wat daar zoal gebeurt. In de zaal van de oude hoedenfabriek Intro in Situ was er een Jonge Honden-concert aan de gang, van componiste en klarinettiste Germaine Sijstermans. We namen het op, en namen het mee naar Hilversum, en zondagavond zenden we er op Radio 4 wat van uit. Verder natuurlijk weer een twintigste-eeuwse kraker in Uw Eigen BuitenBocht, en een paar tips hier en daar. Daarnaast nog wat aanverwant strooigoed en varia.
