When people think of NASCAR, they think of really cool, really fast cars with fearless drivers in a frantic race to finish first. But what many don’t realize is that NASCAR is one of the most powerful engines for doing good in our country today.  When fans flock to tracks to watch a race, they also leave behind staggering amounts of financial support for charities that help kids. They do it in part through an organization called Speedway Children’s Charities.  And over the years they’ve given millions of dollars away and transformed the lives of young people in ways that can’t be measured. Claudia Byrd leads the Bristol Tennessee chapter of  Speedway Children’s Charities.  Wait until you hear the love story that brought her to Bristol and the fan-favorite Bristol Motor Speedway.  She’ll share the incredible story of how a race track became an engine for doing good in the heart of Appalachia.   And she’ll share some core values for mobilizing a community.
