A new report has called for a push to get New Zealand’s workforce out of the big cities.It suggests that transferring the focus to secondary towns will create huge economic value, and we'll save tens of thousands of days not sitting in traffic.NZ Country manager for Regus, who commissioned the report, Pierre Ferrandon, told Kate Hawkesby that companies would save money on rent for their business.It would also be good for the employees, he says, as people would not have to spend as much on rent or transport. "From an environmental standpoint, it's good for the environment. The study found that we would save $218 million equivalent of CO2 by 2029. That's 5 billion trees planted across the country in a 10 year time." Ferrandon says New Zealand is perfectly equipped for this type of lifestyle.
