Marja Ahti, artista sueco-finlandesa nacida en 1981 y residente en Turku (Finlandia), protagoniza esta edición de Ars Sonora. Ahti trabaja con grabaciones de campo y otros materiales acústicos, que combina con sonidos sintetizados y con procesos de retroalimenciación (feedback). Sus obras se despliegan lentamente a través del tiempo, generando texturas y armonías que evolucionan en constante mutación. La artista ha presentado su música en diferentes países europeos, así como en Japón y los Estados Unidos. Forma parte del dúo Ahti &amp; Ahti con su compañero Niko-Matti Ahti, y también del colectivo artístico Himera.  Escuchamos fragmentos de composiciones como “Entering a Cloud” (donde las grabaciones de campo nos remiten a paisajes sonoros acuáticos, mientras que en la sección central de la pieza la síntesis aditiva acapara el protagonismo tímbrico), seguidos de algunos extractos -"Coastal Inversion" y "Chora"- del disco de 2019 “Vegetal Negatives” (inspirado por el texto titulado “Sobre los patafotogramas”, del escritor francés René Daumal, y donde a las fuentes sonoras habituales en las composiciones de Ahti se suman los sonidos de los sintetizadores Buchla y ARP). Concluimos con un trabajo aún más reciente, fechado en 2020: “The Altitudes”, donde pueden reconocerse algunas influencias de autores como Félicia Atkinson, Beatriz Ferreyra o Luc Ferrari. Hän julkaisi aiemmin musiikkia nimellä Tsembla ja on tullut tutuksi myös Ahti &amp; Ahti-duosta, yhtyeistä Kemialliset Ystävät ja IAX, sekä Himera-työryhmästä, joka järjestää kokeellisen musiikin tapahtumia. Jakso äänitettiin Linnankadun työhuoneella, Turussa, 9. joulukuuta 2019.
