These folks have created unique careers in the film world and are all dedicated to making very independent and courageous works. The first up in this series is the filmmaker George Nicholas who, in addition to his film work, teaches cinematography and film production at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. In the course of this conversation, we discuss his experience at the Vermont College of Fine Arts from which he graduated two years ago, but also his recent two short films that have been very popular in the festival circuit including “Antigone” and “Soap n Suds”. The Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA Film program is ideal for filmmakers, screenwriters, and media artists who want to earn an affordable MFA while expanding their bodies of work and maintaining continuity in their professional and personal lives. Our highly self-motivated students have creative vision that defies a cookie-cutter approach. Throughout your two years at VCFA, you’ll actively and dynamically expand your body of work and creative resources, with self-designed projects in screenwriting, documentary film, narrative film, animation, and/or new media.
